Avatar was really great and extremely fun to watch. It's like an amusement park ride but with no puking.
When this movie began I just thought that it was good, and as it went on I began to like it more. The world of Pandora is so emersive that I felt like it was a real place. It wasn't like I watching videogames at all, which is the way I felt when I watched Star Wars Revenge of The Sith. I mean Lucas Arts might as well of have made a Star Fox movie. Cause that's what I felt like when I was watch it. That actually wouldn't have been a bad idea. I would watch it. I love Star Fox, but I digress, Avatar's Cinematography is the best I have ever seen. I can't think of anything that comes close. I can see why James Cameron had to wait so long to make this movie.
The story is great too. It gets better as the movie goes on. It gets more exciting as it goes on. And that's what I wanted in this movie, Excitement and I got it.
This movie reminds of The Abyss more than any other movie. Mainly for the animation in it. In way I could see this movie as a cartoon with every segment of the film made with CG and it would still work. But it probably wouldn't have made the same amount of money. Just because not everybody is a fan of cartoons. But I didn't even feel like it was animation and that's what makes this movie so great It's feels real. Pandora is a place that you want to visit for a vacation.
It also reminded me of history, Mainly Custer's Last Stand, with the General being Custer, but way worse, and Jake Sully being Geronimo. The Navi reminded me of the Navajo Tribe or an African tribe. And they were very easy to root for.
I could also see this movie being turned into a TV Drama. I think it could work, kind of like a Lost type show with a lot of secrets and mysteries.
I could also this as an anime series.
One that I do want to have from Pandora is the faith that they have there. In Pandora the whole tribe believed in God wouldn't it be great if we had faith like that. This is also how Pandora can be viewed as the Garden of Eden.
Avatar left me with a great feeling how great American Cinema can be and how great it should be. Of course in American Cinema it the only direction I see is up.
